The happiest man is he who learns from nature the lesson of worship”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nature
I've got no deeds to do, no promises to keep / I'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep.
Let the morning time drop all it's petals on me / Life, I love you ... all is groovy.

Yet more snow.
Driving snow. Real Winter Snow.
It's nearly June, & Ullr hasn't stopped dancing...

35 degrees
With Snow, Rain, & Thunder all day & night.
35 degrees
With Snow, Rain, & Thunder all day & night.
And I have felt
A presence that disturbs me with the Joy
Of elevated thoughts; a sense sublime
Of something far more deeply interfused,
Whose dwelling is the light of setting Suns,
And the round Ocean and the living air,
And the blue Skye, and in the mind of man:
A motion and a Spirit, that impels
All thinking things, all objects of all thought,
And rolls through all things. Therefore am I still
A lover of the Meadows and the Woods,
And Mountains; and of all that we behold
From this green Earth...
- Wordsworth

Tuesday, May 21:
Low snow-clouds are covering the northern half of the state this morning; they will dissipate by early afternoon.
But expect more snow this evening as another front moves in over the Ten-Mile Range.
PLEASE, warmer weather: hurry up!
I need the ground to thaw before I pitch camp.
Only 11 days remaining!

I leave the security of domesticity & begin my Grand Adventure in the Woods
Beginning in June.
Check out the "Purpose" page of this site
& partake in the journey as I live in the wild Woods of the High Rockies.

My Pledge
![Picture](/uploads/1/9/1/9/19192155/24518.jpg)
I pledge to practice the seven principles of Leave No Trace ethics.
If I am to live in the Woods, I will respect them.
If I am to meditate, dream, & pray in the Woods,
I will revere them.
Along the way, I'll share tips & discoveries as I hike, pitch camp, & clean up.

Time Spent In Solitude . . .

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately,
to front only the essential facts of life,
and see if I could not learn what it had to teach,
and not,
when I came to die,
discover that I had not lived.
- Thoreau
